New Study Shows HMR Program with HMR Meal Replacements Top Strategy for Weight Loss
(August, 2009) According to a new study in the August 2009 issue of the Journal of the American Dietetic Association, HMR’s portion and calorie-controlled meal replacements used as part of a structured weight-loss program are successful in facilitating medically significant weight loss.
The study looked at dieters using HMR’s meal replacements and intensive behavioral program. Dieters used one of two weight-loss options: patients with diabetes, hypertension, or other weight-related medical problems used HMR’s medically supervised Decision Free® Diet. Other dieters used HMR’s Healthy Solutions® Diet. All dieters attended weekly classes, kept food records, had mid-week phone calls with a health educator, and burned a minimum of 2,000 exercise calories each week.
Patients on the medically supervised diet lost an average of 43.3 pounds in 19 weeks. Patients on the Healthy Solutions diet lost an average of 37.5 pounds in 18 weeks. These data represent two to three times more weight loss, in less time, compared to published results of any other commercial diet program. Read more

(June, 2008) This summer, Health Management Resources celebrated its 25th year of providing effective diet foods and innovative health and weight management programs to dieters across the country. Since 1983, HMR has relied on patient data and scientific research to continually improve the program, allowing dieters to learn the most effective weight loss and weight maintenance strategies. As the nation’s leading provider of medically supervised weight loss programs, HMR has helped more than one million dieters lose weight and learn the skills critical for long-term weight management.
(April, 2008) The April issue of the prestigious and well-read Medical Economics Magazine included HMR in a feature on potential services that office-based primary care physicians could add to their practice.HMR was the only weight-loss program that was profiled in the cover article titled “The Quest for New Ancillaries”.Lawrence T.P. HMR at Home® Diet Kits Highlighted in Women""s Health Magazine
(March, 2008) A weight-loss feature in the March issue of Women’s Health, a monthly women’s health and fitness magazine, highlighted the HMR at Home Program as an effective dieting strategy because it does not require complicated formulas, math, or counting calories. In fact, the first suggestion in the article was to enroll in a meal-delivery service such as HMR at Home, which includes delivery of weight-loss foods and diet support materials. The article recommended signing up for such a service because it allows for “portion control without the decimal points.” The advantage of such a service is that dieters can receive meals in “just-right sizes” delivered to their doorstep each week. Another advantage is that the portion sizes of packaged weight-loss foods help train the dieter on proper portion sizes to help make smarter choices when creating meals on their own.
