American Dietetic Association's (ADA) Annual Conference
HMR® Medical Professionals are Featured Speakers at the 2007 Food and Nutrition Conference and Expo (FNCE)

James L. Early M.D., Medical Director for the HMR Program at the Via Christi Regional Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas, and Linda M. Gigliotti, M.S., R.D., C.D.E., Program Director of the HMR Program at the University of California at Irvine, were featured speakers at this year’s annual FNCE conference in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania September 27th–October 2nd.
Dr. Early spoke about bariatric weight-loss surgery, emphasizing the important nutritional and medical considerations necessary for pre- and post-operative patients. Ms. Gigliotti spoke about the role of meal replacements in a structured weight-loss treatment program for both surgical and non-surgical weight-loss patients. She also spoke about the “strong evidence” supporting meal replacements used as successful weight-loss and weight maintenance strategies.
Additionally, hundreds of attendees stopped by the HMR booth, where HMR shared the latest weight-loss and weight maintenance outcome data from its clinical weight-loss programs. For more information about the 2007 FNCE conference, visit www.eatright.org.
