HMR® Weight-Loss Results

HMR program participants achieve the best weight-loss outcomes of any ongoing treatment program. Here are just a few examples.

The average weight loss for participants on the Healthy Solutions® diet was 37.5 pounds in an average of 18 weeks. A systematic review of targeted outcomes associated with medically supervised commercial weight loss program. J Am Diet Assoc 2009;109:1417-1421.

A study of 118 participants who lost over 100 pounds found that the average weight loss was 134 pounds in 44 weeks. Medication doses were reduced in all patients who entered the program on medications. Medications were discontinued in 66% of all patients, including 100% of those with dyslipidemina, 67% with hypertension, and 73% with diabetes. One-hundred pound weight losses with intensive behavioral program: report of 118 patients with risk factor changes and long-term follow-up. Am J Clin Nutr 2007;86:301-307.

Participants in the HMR at Home® phone support program lost an average of 23.4 pounds in the first 12 weeks and an average of 28.2 pounds at 6 months. Comparison of a phone vs. clinic approach to achieve 10% weight loss. Int J Obes 2007;31:1270-1276.

Participants randomly assigned to the HMR at Home self-directed program with limited weekly support or no additional support lost an average of 17 pounds and 13 pounds, respectively, in 12 weeks. Comparison of two self-directed weight loss interventions: limited weekly support vs. no outside support. Obes Res & Clin Pract 2009;3:149-157.
