“I will forever be an HMR member as I am eternally grateful for the new lease on life that this program has given me.”
I started my weight-loss journey in February of 2020. At the time, I was an extremely unhealthy 34-year-old man. After years of abusing my body and avoiding the scale, I got tired of being so uncomfortable and finally got the courage to go to an HMR class with my mother, who has had great success with the program. When I first joined, I stepped on the scale and my coach Jina informed me that at 5’6” I weighed in at 388.8 lbs. My blood work came back to show that my body was essentially failing; my blood sugar, cholesterol, blood pressure, fat content in my liver, and uric acid (I had been diagnosed with gout) were all off the charts. Since that day, I dedicated myself to “buying in” 100% to what my amazing coach and the HMR Natick Program were trying to teach me and committed to the weekly meetings and my new lifestyle forever. From the day I started, the weight starting flying off, and I ultimately lost 219 lbs.over the course of a year.

I have always struggled with my weight, and have tried everything in the past to get healthy. I’ve realized that this process cannot be done alone. What differentiates HMR from other programs I have tried is the support I received, specifically my amazing coach, Jina, and the sense of community and accountability that’s provided. This is not just a business that makes promises to get your money. My coach and my support system at HMR have proven time and time again that they are the real deal and they care about my success. In terms of the cost, I look at is as an investment in myself and my family. Health is wealth!

After losing weight I am so much more active. At minimum, I do 1 hour of cardio daily, and it feels amazing! I am able to be active with my young children (two boys, 4 years old and 1 year old), and give them an active healthy father they deserve to be proud of. I attend weekly group classes with my coach for support and accountability. I am conscious of what I consume and put into my body for the first time in my life. I keep daily records so I can keep track and adjust as needed. I prep and plan ahead to ensure that each day is “in the box” and I’m eating the right foods to support my goals and my health.

My biggest non-scale victory is my improved lab work. My primary care doctor compared my initial blood work when I first started the program with my most recent, and the contrast is amazing. He told me I was essentially a man that was dying with every measure, and now all my blood work is normal and healthy!2 It has changed in every way possible! I am more comfortable physically, in a much happier place mentally, and I have even been able to help inspire and motivate others in the process. This last piece has also managed to help me stay motivated and accountable more than I ever imagined it could. We are all in this together and everyone’s success is shared and motivating!

I will be starting Phase 2 after reaching my goal weight of 170 lbs. Coach Jina, the weekly sessions, and the HMR Program have literally saved my life!

“I will forever be an HMR member as I am eternally grateful for the new lease on life that this program has given me.”

If you have ever struggled with being overweight (I was morbidly obese for the majority of my life), truly commit to the HMR Program and community in every way you can. The process is proven and works if you work it as your new lifestyle. For me, I found that the best outlook was to accept what I did not know and get the help I needed to be successful and more importantly keep the weight off. This truly is worth every bit of the blood, sweat, and tears you will put into it if it changes your life as it has done for me. Along the way, accept every “win” no matter how big or how small. A year ago at almost 400 lbs., I had honestly nothing to lose but to give this an honest effort. It was my last resort and it keeps blessing me every day since!
