Enjoy the bright citrus flavors of blood orange in this creamy smoothie. Pomegranate seeds add a pop of tang and texture. This recipe supports the Phase 1 Healthy Solutions plan and Phase 2, and makes 1 serving at 210 calories.
1 peeled blood orange (or ½ of a ruby red grapefruit)
6 oz. cold water
4 or more ice cubes
¼ cup of fresh pomegranate seeds, for topping
Directions
Pour water into blender, then add HMR Shake mix, orange or grapefruit, and ice cubes. (You can also add some of the pomegranate seeds.)
Begin blending on lowest speed.
Change speed to medium, and watch for desired consistency. For a creamier shake, blend longer on low speed and use small ice cubes. For a more filling shake, add more ice cubes and start blending on low speed, then blend at a higher speed for the last 10-20 seconds.
Blend for 1-2 total minutes, then pour into a tall glass, top with pomegranate seeds and enjoy!
